Blended First Aid and CPR
REGISTRATION FOR BLENDED TRAINING WILL CLOSE ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE COURSE DATE TO ALLOW SUFFICIENT TIME FOR PARTICIPANTS TO RECEIVE THEIR ELEARNING LOGIN INFORMATION AND TO COMPLETE THE SELF-PACED ONLINE COMPONENT OF THE COURSE.
Upon completion of this course you will receive either a Standard First Aid & CPR Level C and AED certificate or Emergency First Aid & CPR Level C and AED certificate (depending on the ticket you choose below).
The blended learning courses are designed to be flexible to meet the various needs of course participants. The content and activities will help participants identify and respond to potentially hazardous conditions, recognize emergencies and make appropriate decisions for first aid care.
Each blended learning course is divided into two components. Participants must first complete the self-paced online component, which includes the written knowledge evaluations, then successfully complete an Instructor-led classroom component (skills practice and evaluation session) in order to achieve certification. Participants should complete the classroom component within four weeks of completing the online component. If a participant does not attend a classroom session within this time-frame, they are required to purchase a second PIN and retake the online component before being admitted into the classroom.
Step One: Register below for the Blended Training. Once your registration has been received you will be added to the Red Cross Campus and you will receive an email in 1 to 2 business days from Red Cross with a unique invitation code and instructions to getting started.
Step Two: After you have created a profile on www.MyRC.redcross.ca you will have access to your online training. You can find it under your ‘My Profile’ tab as ‘My Online Training.
Step Three: The self-paced online component and we recommend completing the training in multiple sessions. Allow up to 8 hours to complete the self-paced portion of the course (less if you are completing CPR or Emergency First Aid).
You MUST complete the online component of the course BEFORE you begin the classroom component. When you have finished the online component you will receive a certificate of completion. Please print or save this certificate and show it to your instructor on the day of your classroom component. If you are unable to print the certificate you can simply show it on your phone when you come to class (PDF copy, or even a screenshot of the completed certificate).
First Aid Manual: You will have access to an online manual in your profile under ‘My digital books’. When you arrive in class you can purchase a physical copy of the condensed Manual for $10.
Students receive 15% off all classes – use code student15 (please bring proof of student status to class)
