Our Story

Our Goal For Each Course Is To Keep Every Student Engaged and Participating.

our story

Be Prepared provides Training Classes for First Aid and CPR, Babysitting, Home Alone Safety, Workplace Health & Safety, Psychological First Aid &  for Healthcare Professionals in Belleville, Quinte Region and Eastern Ontario. Emma started Be Prepared in 2012, and has grown the business every year.

For Families

Today we offer a wide range of courses for everyone in the family and the workplace. For new parents we have an Infant & Toddler CPR Workshop designed to help you prepare for a wide variety of emergencies that can occur with the youngest members of the family.  Great for new parents, grandparents and anyone watching infants and small children.

For Children

For young children that are interested in learning about First Aid, Emma has put together First Aid for Kids.  Part 1 is a 5 week series of after school sessions teaching kids all the basics about handling emergencies, and a wide variety of situations they might come across. From dealing with situations in the home (if something ever happens to their guardian), the park or at school, we want our children to feel confident and prepared for real life.

For kids age 9 to 12 we have an outstanding Home Alone Safety program, designed by SOS4Kids.  A program that is a cut above the rest, it covers all the basic topics necessary in a Home Alone Program but additionally the children will go over up-to-date online safety rules, and learn about recognizing ‘tricky adults’ instead of stranger danger.

For Teens

For older kids that want to start babysitting, we offer the Canadian Red Cross Babysitting program.  Great if they want to start watching their siblings, or if they want to start their first business/job.

For Everyone Else

For everyone else we have First Aid Training.  We recommend everyone takes First Aid Training!  We are a little biased on that opinion, but there is a lot of research to back it up.  The more often you do training, the more confident you will feel in an emergency, and the more likely that you will help out when an emergency happens.

For The Basics

For those that don’t want to commit to a full certification program, but just want to learn some basics we do run an annual free CPR Day in November.  Watch our Facebook page to see details for our next upcoming event.

For Psychological Well-Being

For anyone wanting to improve their psychological well-being, we also offer the newest program from The Canadian Red Cross — Psychological First Aid. This exciting program option teaches everyone how to help others experiencing loss, grief and stress, and also self-care. Learners will come away with coping strategies to prevent, identify and deal with stressful events, and they will better understand what supports are available to them and how they can access or help others to access specialized support.
